This is one of the most interesting paintings to have around, it shape shifts throughout the day and really takes on the light -- not sure I can explain it but when I have it sitting out, it just does something special. Perhaps it's the magic of plein air?
Also, a seagull flew by as I was finishing this painting up and dropped a little piece of seaweed into my painting bag. When I picked it up, I noticed there was a lot of it floating around in the ocean on that day - that's where the some of the colours in the water come from.
